What happens if i need to cancel?


Do you deliver and set up the equipment?

  • Yes.


Can I set up the equipment myself?

  • No, My Garden Cinema will set up your equipment and demonstrate how to use it.


How far do you deliver?

  • We offer free delivery to Sandhurst,  Bracknell, Ascot, Crowthorne, Wokingham, Twyford, Woodley, Winnersh and Lower Earley. My Garden Cinema are prepared to provide our service anywhere on the planet for reasonable travel costs, just call us and ask!


Do you supply any movies, box-sets, games etc?

  • No, we do not supply any content or media. It is your responsibility to provide the movies, games, box-sets or any other content.


Do you stay and manage the projection/event?

  • No, but if this is something you are interested in please get in touch to discuss your requirements.


Do you demonstrate how the equipment works?

  • Yes, once we have set up your equipment we will show you how it all works and how to turn it off once you have finished.


What happens if I have a problem whilst using the equipment?

  • If a problem arises call us straight away and we will endeavour to get you going over the phone. If however we are unable to resolve an issue over the phone we will do our best to get to you ASAP to get your event running again, replacing equipment if possible (if within our standard area of operation and available).


Do I need a license to screen a film?

  • There are strict rules with regards to screening movies or any copyrighted content in a public space and if you intend to charge an admission fee to your audience.
  • Typically a Single Title Screening License (STSL) will be required for the event, the full details of the STSL, the costs, limitations and options including movie content hire are available on the Filmbankmedia website https://www.filmbankmedia.com/licences/stsl/
  • My Garden Cinema do not provide any licensing services.


Are you insured?

  • My Garden Cinema have Public Liability cover of up to £1,000,000 however we would like to make clear that due diligence, adherence to our usage terms and conditions and common sense should be upheld by the hirer to ensure a safe event.


How long does it take you to set up and set down?

  • It takes us around  90mins  to set up but is dependent on access to the venue and what equipment is being used.
  • Set down once the event has finished will take about half the time.


What projector do we use?

  • We use a Professional Full 3D, HD 1080p DLP Projector delivering 4500 ANSI lumens of brightness with a 5000:1 contrast ratio. 
  • For daytime sporting events we use a stronger projector using 5000 lumens


Does the projector work in daylight? 

  • As with all projection reducing ambient light is crucial to get the best image possible. 
  • Our standard pull-up screen comes with a 3m² black curtain side gazebo for daytime events.
  • Please discuss with us the location and orientation options for the gazebo so we can advise on the best setup that will work.
  • For outdoor screenings using the large inflatable screen we recommend starting around sunset/dusk to ensure it is dark enough to get a crisp picture. 


What happens if it rains? 


How many people can we have with the screen?

  • Although dependent on the venue our large inflatable screen setup is suitable up to 30 people. 
  • Our standard pull-up screen setup for as many as you can get safely around a 3m² gazebo.


How much space do you need to set up?

  • The inflatable screen requires 5.5 x 8metres.
  • The pop up gazebo requires 3.5 x 4metres.
  • The enclosed gazebo requires 6.5 x 3.3metres or 5 x 3.5metres
  • In all setups, all seating will be behind the projector - please allow for this in any of your measurements.


Can we screen 3D films?

  • Yes but you will need your own 3D glasses.


Can we back/rear project? 

  • Not currently but working on it.


Can I play digital files on the projector? 

  • Yes you can connect an HDMI enabled laptop or tablet to the projector. 


Can I plug my games console into the projector?

  • Yes you can connect an HDMI enabled console to the projector. 


Can My Garden Cinema be hired for televised or streamed sporting or music events?

  • Yes as long as it is possible to connect the projector to the source.
  • Be aware there are limitations to achieve this such as distance from source and WiFi availability.
